2005
Tradition & Quality
The name of the company, "VEGORITIS," is derived from the lake of the same name, "Vegoritidas," located near Agios Panteleimonas. The winery sits on the edge of a valley that descends from Kaimaktsalan and terminates at the lake, where an old traditional windmill stands. This windmill served as the inspiration for our company's logo, and we named one of our wine labels "MYLOS," after this emblematic windmill. The windmill motif prominently features in the logo and labels of our single varietal wines.
2011
The development of Winemaking
It was the year we had to venture out on our own, parting ways with Yannis Boutaris. We transitioned to new facilities equipped with modern mechanical equipment for producing quality wines. There was also a need to modernize the building infrastructure to facilitate parallel development and wine tourism in our facilities. The balcony now offers a magnificent panoramic view of the village by the lake and the renowned vineyards of Usi, Rasto, and Bela Toumba. Relying on our own strength, we introduced the first 750 ML XINOMAVRO VEGORITIS to the market.
2015
Modern equipment
The company operates in facilities equipped with modern mechanical equipment. There is a need to modernize the building infrastructure to facilitate the parallel development of wine tourism packages in our facilities.
The company is also an active member of "AMYNTAION WINE," a consortium established by wineries operating in the Amyntaion area.
2017
The largest vineyard in Macedonia
A year that will be remembered in the history of the Amyntaios Vineyard, with ideal viticultural conditions imparting excellent and delightful characteristics to the wines produced in our wineries. This led to the emergence of new labels, primarily featuring single varietal wines that didn't require blending. This year, we decided to introduce Vegoritis Special with two initial labels: Riesling and Gewurztraminer. Additionally, we later introduced Sparkling Wines made from Xinomavro, using the Blanc de Noir method for the base of the white and entirely for the rosé PDO sparkling wine.
2023
We are charting a new course
Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have embarked on a new path with increased responsibility and experience. Our goal is to simultaneously develop working conditions and highlight the greatness of Xinomavro in all its aspects as a native variety from the Amyntaio region.
2025
We envision the future
With the hope that we will remain healthy, "VEGORITIS WINERY" anticipates a milestone year as we celebrate 20 years of operation. Our heritage wines will serve as a testament to the fact that we have embarked on the right path in the development of wine production in Amyntaios.
