VEGORITIS SPECIALS

Riesling

In the continental microclimate of the four lakes in our region, a German variety, internationally recognized, made its debut appearance in 2017 in the new category of Special Vinifications by Vegoritis. Over the course of five years, several experiments were conducted to refine the style that would represent us. From the outset, intense aromas of evening primrose, jasmine, lemon zest, and hints of tropical fruits were evident. As it aged in the bottle, its origins began to shine through, revealing aromas of honey and minerality on the nose. With balanced acidity on the palate, it offers a crisp finish with minerality and holds many promises for further evolution over time. This wine pairs perfectly with pasta, white cheeses, seafood drizzled with olive oil, and oily dishes. Serve chilled at 8-14°C for optimal enjoyment.

Gewurztraminer

Among the earliest grape varieties introduced to Amyntaio, Gewürztraminer has imparted wines characterized by aromas of roses and fruits with floral notes. In dry wines, a balanced aftertaste prevails. In our case, being a semi-dry wine with residual sugars, it offers a sweet aftertaste, making it well-suited for pairing with Asian cuisines and rich, flavorful game dishes. This particular Gewürztraminer complements lightly cooked white meats, especially chicken with white, light sauces. It also pairs harmoniously with dishes featuring strong, peppery, or spicy flavors, including curries. Additionally, it serves as an ideal choice to conclude meals, pairing elegantly with tarts, chocolates, or ice creams.
